Is anybody here familiar with Request PC Transfer software from Request Multimedia?
I'm always right. The only time I was wrong was the time that I thought, that I was wrong.

I have a customer with a Fusion Pro 120, and he has a lot of music in his computer. He wants to share those music files with the Audio Request which you can do with the Request PC transfer software. When you share the files in the software they are supposed to be route to a Playlist named Shared network in the Fusion Pro. I can't find that playlist and if I tried to created one with that name it tells me that there is already one.

IIs the music on the same network as the ARQ? If so, dont use PC transfer, but use SAMBA instead. Im pretty sure you cannot transfer playlists, When you PC TRANSFER an album, it will get sorted automacily and placed.

Make sure thou you are not trying to pass "PURCHASED SONGS" from Apple - They encode the purchased songs and cannot be transfered or recongnised on the ARQ - the ARQ just deletes them. If they are purchased songs, you need to convert them to MP3 and burn them to a disc, than pass the music from the disc into the ARQ via SAMBA or PC TRANSFER.

If he is using the latest firmware the PC Transfer software will not work. They decided to go with Java remote as you can add mp3 via SAMBA and few utilize the shared music feature. I believe 1.91 and up no longer support PC Transfer save the remote.

Thanks guys. Thats what I was told for a guy at tech support. But the customer insist in sharing the music files that he already has in the computer. I'm, just wondering if I could downgrage to a firmware that allows him to use PC Transfer. He is driving me nuts with that.

You can load an earlier firmware version but if you do not have a CD with that earlier firmware version you will need to contract tech support and have them give you the URL for the firmware you need so you can download it.
