First time dealing with one of these cable box/DVR's.

URC database codes don't work. Anyone have some idea on where I might find the codes, or have them?

TIA

For Arris boxes in Canada we use the Digeo codeset in URC and they work fine.

I can try those, but I see that there's nothing for ABCD.

Ours the ABCD are

A=PVR
B=VOD
C=Guide
D=Live

Going back to that job on the 17th while the client is out of town (so I can think)... :-)

Going to try a boatload of different codes until I find something that will actually work.

It's been so long since I've had a job with a cable box, I have no idea what the ABCD buttons do, but I do remember I had to add them to a remote a long time ago.

I didn't find codes that work in URC You may need to learn them in to the remote. Once you create the database, you can import them to future remote files from ccp.

The Arris boxes we have use toggle codes so URC won't learn them properly.

This is not good news.

But I figured learning wouldn't work once I tried it....

I wonder does anyone have the codes in hex?

I tried learning the codes just to see. URC said learning was good, but operation was so sporadic it was unusable.

They just started shipping a new Arris box here as well. It uses Motorola codes.

The Arris with toggle codes was part of a centralized PVR system.

Charter started using the Arris boxes here and the same codes (code-set 110) that have worked for years control the Arris boxes just fine. I haven't had to do anything different. Which cable company?

HTC Myrtle Beach.

In the URC database there is no code set 110 under the Arris brand. There is a code set 110 under the Motorola brand though.

Using the code set 192 I get some functionality. I can bring up the guide, and scroll down sometimes, I can get the number 8 to come up, but if trying to enter 861, I get only the 8. In the numeric codes, I get 3, 8 & 9 and no others.

It's just weird.

I'm going back Monday, and will try the Motorola code sets first.

110 is the codeset for Charter/Motorola boxes here in Wis. I doubt they would work for you, different cable company.

I'll find out what actually does work on Tuesday next week.

If nothing, I'm going to swap this thing for a different DVR, as HTC stated they do have some others that can be used.

(Claims the Diago 1 code set from URC db works fine, along with codes from harmony).
