ACE hardware have the best parts selection, along with the odd True Value and old store where the people actually know WTF these parts do.
In the LA area there are two Ace hardware stores some 20 miles apart that have EVERY thread under a half inch that you'd ever need. Definitely check them out.
I don't remember seeing an imported TV that used SAE fasteners.

In the accessory kit you will find two plastic pieces that look like hockey pucks with a screw coming out. These screw into the top mount points and have the M8 threaded inserts on the other side.
Even after contributing to this thread three years ago, I recently got confused by the same situation. I had two such TVs to mount, used spacers and oddball metric screws on one TV, then realized what the hell the hockey pucks were and used them on the second one.
Actually, that last bit is a lie. I completely forgot about this thread and, in frustration, I READ THE FREAKIN' MANUAL where it told what to do with the pucks.
