Hi! I would like to add a Symetrix Jupiter 12X4 DSP to a project. Symetrix tells me that this is a UDP controlled device. I have never added a UDP controllable device to a XP-8S before. I have only used RS-232 equipment. I would greatly appreciate it if anyone can tell me if this is possible. The end result is I want to give them several presets or individual input volume controls on a sub page so they can adjust things if needed. If so, how do I add an IP controllable device to a project? If anyone could tell me the few steps if possible, any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I do not want to quote this piece if I cannot control it.
There is a RTI driver from Symetrix but no one can confirm if this driver will work. If I use the Symetrix Soloist unit, it will accept RS-232 and maybe the driver if it works. Neither RTI tech support nor Symetrix has a definite answer.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Not much different to use an IP device than an RS-232 device. Set a static IP for the Symetrix; add the driver to your project and fill out the IP address in the properties, and you should be off and running. You can probably get a good deal of help on RTI and IP drivers at the RTI forums too.
That being said, if you're more comfortable using RS-232 and the Soloist piece -- and especially if Symetrix can't provide any support at all for their own driver -- it might not be a bad call going that direction. At least if the driver doesn't work reliably you can manually enter the RS-232 codes you need.
