Looking for feedback:

Artison in walls, they have 3 levels
Sketch
Portrait
Masterpiece
Is their dual mono center channel worthy of replacing a dedicated cc?
How do they sound? Are they anemic?
In wall sub good?

Def Tech
I never looked seriously at them because I felt they were on the same level as polk but maybe I was wrong, I've read some good comments.
How do their in walls sound...specifically the UIW line?
Surrounds?
In ceiling?
In wall sub?
Are they direct or dist.?

General experiences with either of those...?

I have only installed one set but I definitely like the Artison Portrait. One of the reasons I wanted to try them is the drivers they use- the Vifa tweeter is one of the best I have heard. The center channel works great and they have been in use for almost 5 years. I built my own sub because the builder didn't leave me enough space for anything else.

I listened to the Def Tech 8040 a few weeks ago and they blew the B&W 683 out of the water. Not just the bass, but the overall sound was much more natural, IMO.

Both can be bought through distribution.
My mechanic told me, "I couldn't repair your brakes, so I made your horn louder."

I've done a few artison, and a lot of definitive.

Artison is great and fits the bill in many situations, but a real center is still a better option if it is possible IMO.

Definitive is a good line for me to carry, a step up from polk in all areas. They have enough exposure to be a known brand, and a decently long history of being a performer.

As far as their UIW line, I have the RLSII and RSSII in my family room, I'm pushing them with a marantz 7002 and love them, I really think they can handle more power and can sound better as so. I have a set scheduled in a theater this month with a better amp, looking forward to it.

They are built like tanks, have good base response, and give an accurate and articulate sound with music and movies.

The in wall subs are great too, but the grills are a bitch, been a production problem. The subs retrofit easily, the enclosures are solid as hell, the bass is smooth and can hit hard for an in wall. I have 2 of the 10/10 in the back of my theater, along with other subs up front, they are tight.

Available through some distribution and direct, distribution still requires paperwork.
Hey, careful man, there's a beverage here!

Thanks guys.....all sounds good.

Their site doesnt list U.S. distributors and as far as I can tell none of mine carry them. Dave, your on east coast like me, where do you get them? You can pm me if need to....

Would you rate these in same league as monitor, or sonance...sound wise?
You mention 2 of them in your theater with other subs up front. Do the 10/10s not do the job by themselves?
You said they're tight but do they hit low? Specs say down to 16hz but im going to guess thats a little exaggerated...

The Artison gear is top-notch. Even their Sketch series performs great. The speakers are built like a vault and their inwall subs are the best design I've seen, next to the BG Radia inwall subs.
