I am moving this weekend. Recently I have been using a Cisco E1500 and for $20bucks it is not a bad paperweight.
So before the move I want everything to be optimal, Denon Heos, my kick a$$ system I have been building for a few years, natural gas, modern fridge, decent neighborhood... and I want to watch Netflix without pausing, reloading, jumping up and down, crawling, begging, etc.
So I bought a Luxul XWR-1750. It has AC for wireless, very very fast throughput. My speeds with Comcast are supposed to be 30mbps, i have never gotten above 21mbps both wired or wireless. I have now checked four different sites and each one is above 26mbps. I am blown away, seriously what a difference.

So what gremlins can I expect?

All Ive heard bout Luxul is NEVER use their wifi. Others say the router sucks as well. Not all say that though.

Maybe try another router in the mix as well?

For the home, [Link: pcworld.com]

This thing is a monster. I'm replacing my own after installing a couple for clients. Coverage and speed are unbelievable.

All the Linksys \ Netgear systems we installed died within 1-2 years, literally all of them. I know you don't expect much from consumer grade networking but that was abysmal. Have switched to Billion for low end jobs and so far they've been good, some running 3+ years now, no failures yet.

I've been using Buffalo for a few years now.

No problems, good speed, and good coverage.

We use Ubiquiti Edge Router Lites exclusively. A lot of other people swear my Mikrotik and the Cisco RV042.

+1 on Ubiquiti Edge Router lite, it is truly a one piece of hardware that has never failed or had to be rebooted ( and we've installed a lot of those ). Couple it with Ubiquiti access points and you have a winner solution.

Have you got a VPN or DynDNS to work on that?
I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other.

I have, I am using both at my home setup. DynDNS can be now setup via a simple Gui/wizard . VPN ( at least some " flavors " ) still has to be accomplished via CLI

They added a Port Forwarding and VPN Wizard. I have used No-IP DDNS and DYN-DNS with no problems. I am having an issue now with a firewall rule that would allow me to use DDNS while in my house to access my cameras.
