It's always been true that Zero Tolerance means Zero Thinking based on Zero Understanding.

Topeka, KS - High school sophomore Brett Tyson was suspended today after teachers learned he may be using PHP.

"A teacher overheard him say that he was using PHP, and as part of our Zero-Tolerance policy against drug use, he was immediately suspended. No questions asked," said Principal Clyde Thurlow. "We're not quite sure what PHP is, but we suspect it may be a derivative of PCP, or maybe a new designer drug like GHB."

Hell, I don't know what it is, either!

A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

I don't buy this story. While a teacher may make the leap of thinking an acronym is a drug, and even the administration may make the same assumption, I say as soon as the student was confronted for drug use, he would explain what PHP is and even show them proof
Civil War reenactment is LARPing for people with no imagination.

There's definitely some zero thinking and zero understanding there, but while pointing that index finger, pay attention to the direction of all the others.

Ernie, is that where you get all your news... Explains a lot!

I think you'll find the following site a good fit for your intellect: http://www.theonion.com/

Yeah, that will give you more stuff to write about, that we can then marvel at your grasp of the great issues of our time!

Sensationalism, Ernie. In this context, suspended means the student is told to leave and then allowed back at a later date. Expelled means you leave and find yourself another school, such as vo-tech or the one on the other side of the tracks that will take anyone with a pulse. The article states the student was suspended, not expelled.

My daughter & her friend was suspended from middle school (now 19) for "pretending to do drugs & distributing them on campus"! She was an Honor Roll, straight "A" student with a perfect attendance record & never any issues whatsoever!

Her little boyfriend made a fake prescription from an old pill bottle & created a label ( written in colored pens) for the "chill pills"... She is & was then very uptight about her grades, homework & such. They were frickin Tic Tacs!!! It was pretty creative in my opinion.

I was furious as was the other parents. Had a meeting with the principal & got nowhwere. So completely "dumbass".

It is the only time she has ever been in "trouble".

This fictitious story is 14 years old. It comes up every two or three years when somebody wants to clutch their pearls.

We should have let them rant on for another two or three pages.
