You need a specific kind of calculator to figure things like this out, Sheeple.

Thought I splained myself earlier.....

All liberal talk is about gun control....

Peace loving gun owners want to be left alone. Your side just wants to start shit.

Go have a nice life BP.....leave me out of it. If YOU want my guns, come and take em!

I will not respond to your worthless posts anymore, unless you are being a general turd......like usual.

Can't we all just get along?

People are far too reactive for this topic to be debated calmly.

let's just clarify

you don't need to clarify anything you were clear the first time but you did just prove my point.

We all agree (And no one said that you don't) that a 9 year old should not have been at that gun range using that Uzi in the first place. But the minute there is a discussion of adding legislation to make sure something this stupid does not happen again comes up for you it is part of a conspiracy to take your gun away.

There might be a handful of nutballs out there that want all guns to be outlawed but that is not the discussion and it does not matter if those people exist because if a day came where that was a serious discussion the rest of us that think some gun control legislation is needed will be just as much against it as you are.

no, I think most gun control advocates want to make sure shit like this does not happen again. Not only was this deadly for the instructor but also probably mentally destructive for that little girl. And why because some morons were not as smart as you and I to realize that a 9 year old does not have the strength to control an Uzi.

I don't agree. Do you know how many 9 year olds there are on gun ranges? Me neither. But I can assure you it is a lot. And this doesn't happen every day. Should the instructor have done something different? Should he have refused to let a 9 year old shoot? I don't know. What I do know is he was a Marine with enough experience that he was qualified to be a firearms instructor and determine who he was comfortable teaching.

Trying to come up with a solution to prevent this from happening again is just to make everyone else feel better. It's like when the NHL put up nets because a puck hit and killed a little girl. Yes, it was a tragedy, but it was a one time tragedy that hadn't happened before. But now everyone feels safer to go to a public facility where they are much more likely to have been trampled to death than hit with a puck.

Have any of you folks ever shot an Uzi? I have, it's a 9mm that can shoot an entire magazine in no time, when you let go of the trigger it will still shoot. It's hard to control, not what I would call easy to be accurate with. It was used by the Israeli army for years and has one function, to spray bullets.

They can be purchased as can any full auto weapon, I looked at one, it was $8,500, and subject to federal regulation with a year of waiting to purchase. Needless to say I didn't buy it, have no reason to own it other than to say I have one.

This little girl was shooting one owned by the range. This wasn't her first time shooting, she was a competitive shooter, there is video of her in a combat range. BUT there is NO reason that she should have been trying to control this weapon. She was an advanced shooter, but 10 years away from being able to shoot full auto.

This was a tragedy, a horrible lapse in judgement on all adults involved, and should never have happened, pure negligence.

As far as people owning these guns, to be honest, these are the most regulated firearms you can buy, and any person that owns one is likely to follow the letter of the law, because once you register a tax stamp weapon, you open yourself up to government coming in when ever they want to check and make sure you are following the rules.

As far as kids shooting, this girl was advanced. I started as a kid, maybe 9 or 10, bolt action .22, one bullet at a time, lying down, and this is how I shot for the first year or two. I go to a local range, their official rule is kids have to be 13, and that's based on maturity, they may refuse a 14 year old if he or she is displaying the inability to be safe. At the same time if an 11 year old shows they can listen, be safe, responsible, and with a responsible adult or instructor, they may be allowed.
