I have a changer to load and 8 music groups from the client. Is it easy to positively select a music group and play with a IR command string? I want to put these group buttons on both the wall touch-screens and the hand helds. TIA

Depending on model # it may be done. However once a CD is put into one playgroup it can not be put into a second playgroup. ie. Steely Dan Aja, cannot be entered in Sally's faves and into Johnny's faves.

Sounds like you've lined yourself up for a whole lotta work. I hope you're billing for it, 'cause the net profit on selling the changer won't do it.

I've been roped into doing similar things in the past.....

Yeah it's a lot of work and I'm hiring it out this time around. Are the keypresses "group", the group number (1 thru 8), and then the "play" command? I notice the "continuous" and "shuffle" toggle between "one disc" and "all discs", anyway around that guesswork?

I use

Group
disc
group
#
play

that will erase any active groups.
Good luck on the shuffle.

The sequence works for me except the "play" command as mentioned in the macro sequence should be "enter" (at least on my changers cdp 400,450,455, ect)

Right. It's been a while. We switched to music servers.

Still add play to the end though

Probably cheaper in the long run.

Yeah I priced them today(music servers), it would have to be a "long run" for them to be cheaper. The Fireball versions are about $1000 dollars apart in the different hard drive versions, what's up with that? Also with the Slink-e out of the picture, what is the replacement interface?

Usually RS232 if Crestron or AMX. We set them up on Pronto's too with IR
