Dealing with this turd... ADB-2721W Looks like a slingbox with cable box firmware. Tried controlling this thing with an RTI T2X...

None of the ID codes work.... Also learned URC codes and they didnt work..... Tried learning from the remote and that wouldnt work either. I get a confirmation blink from the learned codes but none of the codes do anything........

Tried every IR learning trick I could and still couldn't get any control of the box. Googled like a mofo and couldnt get any codes and hotwire is completely useless in the matter..

Anybody here dealt with/have these codes?

I've never even heard of it, but do the codes work properly out of the factory remote?

Did you verify that the box is set to be controlled via IR and Not RF? I have no idea if this is even possible as I've never heard of the box, but from what you describe, the box could be set to RF.

Yeah I tried to test if it was rf but it was ir. Covered the oe remote sensor and codes wouldn't work.

This is one of those lovely condo and ISP deals.. Where there's only one ISP and TV provider...

These people buy these million dollars condos and have to deal with the crappiest service providers cause someone get a big under the table payout....

So does the supplied remote work ok or flaky?  Any idea if another company makes the box, have u tried any other STB remote codes?  Who is the service provider and what other stbs would they have provided if any?

Over here the Samsung boxes still use the Scientific Atlanta codes for instance.

Hifi-remote.com has this upgrade file which shows that the ADB 2721W uses the XMP IR protocol, device 42.20.  Here's Power function 68

You can assemble all of these using IrScrutinizer with XMP-1 protocol

BTW, there's no reason to think that the box is a turd.  However, I think we already know that most learning hardware doesn't handle modern IR protocols well....

Thanks 3FG !!

I'll give those a shot!

This is a small service provider and I would go crazy trying to randomly find a codeset....
