I am about to become a B&K dealer and have a quick question. How can their 2 channel amp the 55.2 be turned on? 12v trigger, signal sensing,? Their website doesn't say anything but does on all their other amps. Thanks.

[Link: bkcomp.com], page 6. They don't trigger the amp per se, they allow you to control output muting. Do you need to turn it on and off, or just shut off the output?

I would prefer to turn it on/off. Using to power a pair of speakers on zone 2 of a reciever. I currently use sonamp 260's for this but am looking to switch. The B&K 6 and 12 channel amps do have auto on. By the way, with the 12 channel, if the first 6 channels are using 1 source and the second set of 6 channels are using a 2nd source, will either source turn the amp on? Thanks

[Link: bkcomp.com], page 4.

"Amplifier pairs with DIP switch ‘SENSE’ set to ‘ON’, have the remote Master and Channel switching of
the amplifier audio mute on/off feature disabled. Amplifier pairs set to use ‘SENSE’ will mute
automatically after a delay of three minutes once no audio signal has been detected. The sense circuit
monitors the amplifiers selected audio, i.e.. ‘Local’ or ‘BUS’ mono or stereo. When remote amplifier audio muting
is desired by either the Master or ‘Local’ Channel control input, the ‘SENSE’ switch must be set to the ‘Off’
position. When the AMP ON feature is desired or automatic muting of the amplifier pairs is not desired, or if the
audio signal is erratic, the ‘SENSE’ switch must be set to the “Off’ position.

ON"

Not the best use of the King's english, but it _is_ right there.

As far as the ST-55.2 getting powered off, how about a triggered AC gizmo like the Niles AC-3 or just plugging the amp into the switched outlet on the receiver, considering that they will likely reside in the same cabinet.
Carpe diem!
