TV: Sony KDL48W600B
Vesa pattern: 300 x 200

The clients have older equipment and we need to use the component/composite video hookups on the back of the TV which are pretty much dead center of the 300 x 200 pattern.
We are using a cantilever mount (here) and of course the plate that mounts to the TV covers the hookups we need.

We can use spacers but wow, we have to space it out so far that it just looks rigged and rickity.

Sony makes a VESA adapter part number 448584401 but only claims it will work with the KDL50W800B. It appears to have the "bump-out" depth we need to accommodate the wiring.

Anyone have any experience with these? Any help is appreciated.

No experience with the adaptor. We had one customer take the tv back because he wanted it on an arm and do not wants to fool with making it work. The other just had us mount flat (about 8 inches thick) with Sony base/mount. Can you just get a different tv? Hope the design was a one model year screw up.

Its the customers own equipment and they won't be exchanging it. That would be nice, though.

I installed 5 in a new house including 2 on articulating arms. I used Chief mounts and had no problems. Get a better mount designed for a bigger tv. I realize these tvs are stupid light but need a mount with the frame and not just a plate.

Ha! We mounted the 50w800b yesterday using the strong art2l. Also an ancient system using component video. We spaced it out. It worked fine once we tracked down all the parts we needed and rigged it up. But what a PITA Sony. The 55w800 is a bit better. They include spacers for the top and the bottom holes are not recessed as far.

And you were able to utilize the rear facing center analog jacks? Please provide which Chief model you used - thanks!

It was a new system with DM 6x4 matrix but I believe the rca jacks could still be accessed. Chief TS325T medium thinstall dual swing arm. I'm sure you can space just enough clearance for right angle adapters on the component inputs.
