check your terminations of the RJ45's. I had this the other day where I could connect to the AP but couldn't get an IP address when I connected the AP to the router. problem ended up being a bad termination at the AP, re-terminated and worked no problem
You can't fix stupid

I thought about that because I had to use a keystone coupler, but the AP has an ip address and shows up on the network but not showing a wifi signal as per wifi analyzer app and therefore no traffic up or down...

ap = Version 3.2.1.2601

controller = 3.2.1

just disconnected that ap and tried a different one also outdoor + and smae result.
Then brought in here at rack where i am and connected with a short cable to the poe injector.
I get same result, it connects and gets an ip address on the network, but no wifi signal showing up from it anywhere. The light on front is blue.
All looks like it should, I can ping the ap, except no signal
arrgghh

I hope I don't have this issue tomorrow as I'm installing the same units for a client.

Not sure what you mean, but i have the outdoor + which is 2.4....it doesnt show up in either my wifi analyzer app on android (checked both 2.4 and 5) nor my laptop.....there is no signal emanating from the wap.
Real frustrating.....ive changed cables, poe injectors, electrical outlets....

Don't know if the wifi analyzer would work if your devices were 5 GHz only. I'd be surprised if they are though. Is your AP assigned to your WLAN Group?

its assigned to the default group, there are no other wlan groups...thats how ive always done it.

im trying a unifi ap indoor right now, its connected and upgrading...i will see if there is a signal from that one in a minute

That was it.
I don't know why but I dont recall ever setting up the wlan group name just left as default.
Either i'm going nuts or maybe the firmware upgrade made that a necessity.

Either way it's working now.....

Thank you Mike
