They take soccer so seriously, it is like religion. Now, that being said she was up here for the Super Bowl and we watched it together, but she got bored and fell asleep 1/2 way through!

I tried to watch a couple games. It made baseball look exciting. A couple days ago I heard Jay Mohr talking about the World Cup and he made the statement "in a soccer match where the final score is 3-2, if you had taken away the goalies, the score still would have only be 8-9"

That's because on average there are only 40 shots on goal and only 20 of them don't sail over or wide of the the goal bars. Actually I have no idea if that is a real stat, but it seems par for the course after watching several matches. (sorry for the mixed metaphor)
