Ok guys, so I have the dead switch here from when this paperweight ruined my saturday a few weeks back. I was moving some things around and ran across it (wasnt going to bother calling s**p for a replacement) I realized that there was some decent weight to it considering its an 8port switch, I was curious if it had a "value added weight" stuck to the inside...well i didn't find that but I did find THIS:

][IMG][/IMG]

Which is more then disturbing and maybe could explain the reason it died and or took out my UBNT router. It may be hard to see but the ground wire is NOT attached to anything, which also means the case was ungrounded.

Now finding this, I wonder how many others have thought to pull apart a s**p piece to see the innards?

I called s**p to ask for a refund, FedEx is picking it up next week so they can "investigate" BTW i sat on hold for 10 minutes before the receptionist picked up...Maybe they should stop watching F(#*@&^ soccer and answer the phones...[Link: facebook.com]

Im REALLY glad they value their "TV Time" more then mine/ours. Unbelievable.

this picture especially got me..."customer satisfaction department...nobody is there!

Man am I done with them

Tsk Tsk. So you're saying it's bad to take care of your employees, have an engaged work force. You would be bouncing off the walls after a week in a cube.

Next time maybe call China :)

Don't buy a first model year *anything* product.

You mean the yellow-green wire?

And the end on the left is not connected - just floating in air?

That's a pretty lame excuse for leaving a customer on hold and posting it on facebook, that's amateur. I'd be pissed too.

They are not allowed to eat lunch?

The post, if you take the time to put it in context, says its a catered lunch for all.
Looks to me like some of them took it to their desk and kept working.

Its history, let it go, you cant change it. Stop letting this dominate your life.

Poop happens!

I bought a new pick up in 94, went out to the driveway the next morning after delivery and there was coolant running down the driveway.

The truck got a brand new engine at 30 miles!

I haven't spent the rest of my life trashing the manufacturer over it.

If he was confused, he would have used a question mark, ya think.

Probably nobody. When you basically work by the hour, there's no profit at all in risking voiding a warranty to see what's messed up inside of a chassis.

I called s**p to ask for a refund, FedEx is picking it up next week so they* can "investigate" BTW i sat on hold for 10 minutes before the receptionist picked up...Maybe they should stop watching F(#*@&^ soccer and answer the phones...[Link: facebook.com]

*Unclear pronoun reference. When I first read this, I wondered why the hell FedEx would be investigating a loose ground.

Man am I done with them

We thought they were great, but we didn't realize that they were actually too good to be true. Too bad.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
