I have heard you can do this with special keypresses on the remote.
Any help would be appreciated.

There are a very few DVD players that are inherently multiregion and can be "hacked" by sending the correct codes from the remote, but most cannot. There are others which can be made multiregion by some electronics changes. What model of DVD player are you trying to make multiregion?
