Bluray players don't have any margins any way. Might at least sell a good one that Walmart doesn't have and the client can brag about

I might be wrong but I think they quit taking on dealers. They will sell one at a time though... If you are a dealer.

Yep they dropped us as a dealer and stated they will never take on anymore, but we are more than welcome to order directly from their site as before for purely RETAIL price. Mean "0" margin....

I just filled out the online dealer application in mid-July and was approved a week ago...

I've only been quoting the Marantz player as well. The only time I put in Oppo is when the client requests it. Even then, I make the client buy it themselves.

The main reason I use Oppo is for customers with anamorphic setups. The Oppo players are the only ones I'm aware of that can shift subtitles into the picture.

In looking at the Marantz 5007 Bluray I see it lacks a 7.1 output as well as RS232 connection. The Oppo also has USB inputs and HDMI inputs for switching.

We are Marantz dealers and we have yet to sell a Marantz bluray player. we only sell the Oppo's. we are also direct with Oppo so that helps a bit.

On a budget job we will use a sony or something easily controlled

Is anyone in the world who sells Oppo NOT direct with them? Reread the posts: actual clients are direct with Oppo!
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
