Anyone know if there is a new unit which will output hd and sd simultaneously. Need to drive a new Hd tv and non hd projector at same time. HD300 I believe will not do this.

The HD300 will indeed output both simultaneously.

According to the folks at Samsung only 3 companies are producing D* boxes and they are being produced to D* specifications. Those specs do not include simultaineous SD and HD outputs so none of the new boxes will support this feature. So nether the Samsung ( which was the first to output both formats ), RCA nor Hughes branded units will output both a the same time.

Only option is to locate a used Samsung, Hughes or other that will allow for simultaneous output.

Or upgrade the projo.....

I am sure too. We swapped out an HD100 for the HD300 for precisely that reason.
