I'm controlling two TVs both '09 Samsung 8000 series LED UN55B8000XF & UN46B8000XF. I'm using RTI with a CM-232 on an XP-8s and official Samsung EX-LINK adapters. The problem is not general control, I can turn the units on and off with ease as long as I've recently powered on the display either manually or with IR. I'm not sure how much time needs to elapse but it's probably more than an hour so troubleshooting is tough.

My first thought was an eco power saving mode setting but it's already set to off. Any ideas? Do I need to switch something in the installer menu. It's just an odd problem and I'm having the same issue on both sets, but not a 3rd unit that is a Samsung Plasma which I think is also from '09.

Hotel mode on or off does not make a difference. EX-LINK On command will work just fine if the TV has been recently turned off.

It seems odd that nobody else has experienced an EX-LINK port falling asleep...

I will at least back you up. We had a few Samsungs at a job recently have the same issue. Ex-Link going to sleep.

I however can not tell you how it got resolved because other techs have dealt with it.
Don't read my answer. Someone else will go into great detail as to why I am wrong rather than answer the original question...

It's 30 minutes until the EX-LINK falls asleep. If you find the resolution that would be appreciated, I really like using the rear connection.

any update on ex-link falling asleep?
if it is a new 'feature' - is there a workaround?
perhaps changing settings related to a power savings or green feature?
