Hey guys Lutron just called me asking for some help testing their new "spacer" light switch called the maestro. It sounds like they're really slick units with LED's on the side to indicate pre set levels, discrete dimming codes for universal remotes and improved touch/feel etc. He said they'd be sending them out in a few weeks time once they get the first run from the factory so I'll let you all know what I think when i get it installed.

And how is this different from the existing HWI Maestro Dimmer?

Not really sure other then he said it was an improved model that they're waiting to get the first samples off. I think the discrete codes are one improvement but they're may be others as well.

There is a very big difference between H bus Maistros that were engineered by the HWI group and standard Maistros made by the Maistro group. I would think the Maistron Spacer is the product of the Maistron group and has different innards and circuit boards than the HWI product. Differences such as where to locate the master in a 3/4 way system and the ability to use interface products would be the biggest difference.

Sounds like a Spacer-System switch in a Maestro casing....
Nothing earth-shattering there....
