I am seeing it as the electrician prewired it and instead of cutting his wire for each speaker he just ran a loop around. Cut the wire and connect the two speakers

Based on the technically sloppy first post... did the electrician run "a wire," meaning a single conductor, or "a wire," meaning two conductors or even 4 conductors? If you're running 14-4, you speak of running a wire as meaning a 4 conductor wire.

This was clarified a bit when pesci jumped in and said it was 16-2, but yeah, we're wasting time until he comes back with more detail.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

sorry guys....hadnt checked til now....

thanx ernie for not screaming at me LOL

u guys are nuts lol

i dont know how to explain how he wired it in words other than TWO 16-2's. one goes out and in to 1st masbrm spkr, out of 1st masbrm spkr in to bath dvc, out of bath dvc to in of master bed other spkr, then out of that spkr back to closet. i think thats series, if so how would master bedroom spkrs wire since there will be four (4) conductors? put the blacks together (splice) w wire nuts and put teo reds on a speaker?

i dont know how else to expalin it? sorry

but thanx guys

ahhhhh thanx.... was thinking of series in alarm contacts. where there is multiple multiple doors or windows on one 2 conductor in the middle of the loop you put the blacks together

that works!! thanx

so how does that add ohms? woudlnt be better to put in parrelell? especisally if you wanted to seperate the rooms at some point?

i see alot of guys around this area do this for family rms or kitchens w four speakers in a room

thanx a bunch!

especially ernie for not screaming at me :-)

You've got two speakers in the bedroom and one DVC speaker in the bathroom.

So clearly you want to hook this up so you make use of the two outputs from the Sonos player and end up with stereo in the bedroom and still have both channels in the bathroom but since they are coming from one speaker it will be mono.

You should have one pair of wires running from one output of the Sonos (say Left) to one of the speakers in the bedroom and then on to speaker in the bathroom connecting to one voice coil.

You should have the other pair of wires running from the other Sonos output to the other speaker in the bedroom and then on to the speaker in the bathroom connecting to the other voice coil.

If they are all 8 ohm speakers you should have no "red-to-black" connections anywhere.

Again:

One bedroom speaker in parallel with one voice coil of the bathroom speaker to one Sonos output.

The other bedroom speaker in parallel with the other voice coil of the bathroom speaker to the other Sonos output.

...this is exactly why I told you to make a picture of how the wiring goes. If you did that, then scanned it and put it into a photo hosting site, you could link to it in a post and we could look at the drawing. Remember the old picture, thousand words thing, which is even more true in tech stuff and wiring.
