I'm doing a dm 8x8 system with rmc 100's . I installed one of the zones and it worked perfectly. I get called to the other room to fix a rs232 issues . I comeback and it doesn't work. The ir out of the rmc stopped working. We have changed out the rmc and the emitter and it still doesn't work anybody have any ideas ?

Are you using the RMC's for anything other than control? If so..is that stuff working? Video/work for example?

Does the emitter flash or do you have an IR testing card to see whether or not it's outputting IR?

If it isn't outputting IR I would ask the programmer to check and make sure nothing has changed on his end.

If it is outputting IR I would first try the factory it remote to make sure the TV is working and being controlled the. I would try moving the emitter around on the device to see if it's an emitter placement issue. I had an issue once where everything worked fine while I stood in front of the TV. When I moved it stopped working. Emitter was facing the wrong direction. It worked when it could bounce off of me standing in front of it.

Check the ip table of the room box and make sure it's pointing to the processor. The room box will video switch fine without an entry pointing back but control features won't.

+1

Also make sure the ir driver is attached to the RMC and not the processor IR PORTS

And just to be safe, plug in another IR emitter and test.
I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other.

I can guarantee you that your Rmc is not online. If it isn't, you will have av but no control. Like others have said, check your ip table.

We had this problem lately in a system that had been installed for nearly a year. IR stopped working. Had to replace RMC-Scaler-C

Be careful with updating crestron firmware. If it's a new job its usually okay. If its a service call or upgrade dont update firmware unless you need to.

Long story short...Being the efficient proactive installer that i am...i decided to update firmware for everything in a large project while i was there working on service issues. New is better right? Not if the program running on the processor isn't compatible with the new firmware :/.
