But laughable. I just watched this week's The Americans. The woman agent delivered a chemical into the body of a Pakistani diplomat. Using a solder sucker. The black version of this:

That's just par for the course, though. Back in the late sixties, Bones injected some alien with something using a solder sucker. This is how they looked in the sixties, though this one is still available:

What have YOU seen that made you laugh out loud?

On an old episode of CSI...

Some stalker guy was living in the attic of this woman's home without her knowing. He had tapped into her phone lines which is how he knew where she was going, or some other plot-related reason.

As they're looking around, they find what looks like a Cat3 cable with the outer jacket worn away. They then proceed to take a butt set and just clamp BOTH clips across ALL the conductors of the Cat3 at the same time.

Isn't that how it works? I mean I see shows with guys clipping onto the outside of CAT5 cables and tapping into secure networks all the time! :-)

That youtube fragment (it's a "streaming pile") is the high tech equivalent of a lot of advertising brochures. Reminds me of every place i've seen some profession or specialty referred to as a "space." The CI space. Et cetera. Big words. No knowledge behind them.

I just remembered the early few years of CSI when they projected images on the faces of people who were looking at monitors. That's how they got across that they were looking at images. What a monumentally impossible and stupid idea! It's like painting a tire track down someone's body when they're in a car to get across the idea that they're driving.

I will build a house using Styrofoam to see if I can cook a hot dog.

Hate to say it, but movies/TV shows still do that a lot.

And how about the completely impractical screens they love to use - like the huge transparent glass ones with a projected image on it (trying to portray self-illuminated clear LCD screens) where you see way more of the stuff behind/through the screen, than what they're supposedly looking at on the screen!
