I just remembered the early few years of CSI when they projected images on the faces of people who were looking at monitors. That's how they got across that they were looking at images. What a monumentally impossible and stupid idea! It's like painting a tire track down someone's body when they're in a car to get across the idea that they're driving.
Hate to say it, but movies/TV shows still do that a lot.
And how about the completely impractical screens they love to use - like the huge transparent glass ones with a projected image on it (trying to portray self-illuminated clear LCD screens) where you see way more of the stuff behind/through the screen, than what they're supposedly looking at on the screen!
