All my experience with satellite Internet has been that it is ridiculously slow and worse than DSL. I have a current client who says it's been okay, but now that they are streaming Netflix they have issues.

I had asked in another thread about speed testing, and when I go out to the house that's what I will be doing is checking their speed.

Was just hoping to have some other installers' feedback before I go to the house. One odd thing they noted was that Wi-Fi slowed down when their television was on. The television.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

installed two Excede satellite internets this year. NO PROBLEM whatsoever. Even opening ports and forwarding to allow assess to control systems, security and cams.

runs 12-15mb typically. very nice, compared to what it used to be which SUCKED!

Now, as far as I know ALL sat systems have LIMITS on downloads and be hit FAST particularly with movie streaming! Customer called and said its SUPER SLOW. I told them to log into their account online as they likely give you access to how much data you have used and sure enough, they hit their measly 10gb limit and when that happens, the sat company drops their speed to about 1mbps.

maybe that has happened? they hit their limit? have them check that.

I really sold on sat internet now. SO much better than wants available now in rural areas. Which around here is .5mps (YES, .5 is actually a package option!) to about 3mbs if your lucky. I get under two and will likely switch to satellite.

I've seen it, but this was before there was much streaming video. Five years ago we did a massive audio remodel that included video, and when I went to speedtest.net I was amazed to see that the "local" server was in Ghana. I was in Saudi Arabia, so guessed, later confirmed, that we had satellite internet. Download was somewhere higher than 15 Mbps.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
