I installed one of these today. I see two things wrong with it. Its small size and small price are great if it will perform and continue to perform, though!

First, when you're playing a disc and hit STOP, you get a white screen with a little STOP symbol at the top right. Hey LG, did you know that one of the simplest ways to reveal a subtle flaw in a TV is to make its screen totally white? Except for the best-set-up, most expensive TVs, just about all TVs vary in brightness and color across the screen. This was a dumb move on their part.

This one's worse. The client's entire system uses component video, so I got a converter from Calrad. It works great, but it won't pass 1080p. So I went into the player's setup and changed Resolution from Auto to 1080i. Great, right? Well, no -- after I turned off the player and turned it back on again, video resolution was back at auto. Does that mean that when we put a BD into the player and hit play, we'll get the video equivalent of crickets? Or would the EDID that must be in place for the converter to work not allow 1080p to be sent to it?

Any ideas?
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
