There's been many ongoing issues on IP. Now today just as I replied to a thread I got the "account suspended" screen.

Gary.....?

So was I. I was posting to a thread and when I hit enter I got suspended.
Something similar happened a couple months ago right before the $h!l hit the fan

The word all along was that the host was the issue, so they switched hosts. Since switching hosts, the site has had all sorts of issues, such as the doubling up of responses in threads. Now we see this account suspended thing again.

I ran a forum several years ago along with a friend. We had quite a few more members than IP, and it ran smoothly. None of these hiccups. If the guys need help, they should just reach out. Not having the time is an odd excuse IMHO, because once set up, it really should run, for the most part, on its own.

With all that said, IP is awesome and a place I'd hate to see disappear which is my fear. More so because the members of the site will start spending more time at ESI or other places if the issues continue. After a while, there will not be the amount and quality of members to support the site or warrant going there. Afterall, most of us go there to ask questions on a private forum looking for assistance of some sort. Some of those questions can be time sensitive so having to wait it out sometimes is not an option.

Yup. Primary reason I didn't visit the site for years, and primary reason I no longer am a regular.

lack of stability.

and FYI...., its Garys account that is "account has been Suspended" not any individual users.

I thought my ranting about how the site is the most fugged up site technically I have ever seen got me suspended lol.

Really, have you ever seen a site with MORE issues? Never. How are we supposed to feed our addictions when its down? Time to switch to heroin I guess. Might be easier to get. :)

I use ESI but find the traffic to be lite. I wish more people were there because I like the format of the forum better with voting (thumbs up) and several other features.
However, at the moment there are still too few members to just dump IP.

John, I share your fear of IP fading into oblivion. WorthDist used to have a very active forum that I would contribute to almost daily. Their forum went down and was offline for what probably lasted a month or two.
That site has never been the same and I only go there once a quarter or so.

Quite honestly, if we had a protected forum on RC, I thing that would be my end to visiting all the others.

I have not been able to log into ip for almost 2 years now. Kept getting errors. So I don't even bother.

Esi. Felt like I wasn't welcome. So again. Why bother.
Ed will be known as the Tiger Woods of the integration business, followed closely with the renaming of his company to "Hotties A/V". The tag line will be "We like big racks and tight holes"...

I would donate to IP more if the site wasnt so buggy. Im just worried that ill donate and then the site will be down for weeks.

I would PAY for a closed section on RC to tell you the truth.

You sure it wasn't just in your head?

For me it was send and email and get an account; not sure how I would pick up on the welcome/not welcome vibe, but I'm pretty ignorant, so who knows? :-)
