Client's Boo-ray has lost its little mind. After trying to play Berlin Philharmonic from the internet (she didn't remember which service she used), it locked up and would not respond to any remote control or button pushes. She had to unplug the player, then replug it, to get it to work.

She's had this for a couple of years. She recently moved and I installed all the equipment at the new place about two weeks ago. After installing it we ran an update.

Anyone hear of this before? I've heard of it with LG, but not Sony.

Thanks.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

If one reset fixed it, you are good and I would not worry.

Berlin Philharmonic is just one of the apps or widgets that Sony BDPs have.

If it quits again, replace it.

After I saw a video about how to fix this after an update, I emailed the client. She says it simply does nothing after she tries to go anywhere on the internet. But then, maybe the solution I saw actually solves the problem my client has. I'll have to try it.

The video I found is here:

Sonys with wifi disconnect easily, esp if you are on the fringe of good wifi reception. Reconnect and you should be OK.

Thanks. The player did not just disconnect from the internet. It totally stopped responding to buttons on the front of the unit and to remote control commands.
It's not possible to reconnect a player when it has totally stopped functioning.

I see. I failed to pick up on that.
