David and Mac are spot on! Its funny to see the massive hypocrisy when the tables are turned.. Deny someones rights and its your "religion liberty" that is being persecuted but pay no attention to millions of people around the world suffering from your pathetic religion that is a cancer on the world and the future of science and fact based logic

How is it that you can have your opinion and I can not have mine?

That is all that I am fighting here.

Why can't Eich have his own opinion?

Freedom of Speech?

Freedom of thought?

Freedom of ones own beliefs?

How is it, that yours is OK and mine is hate?

I just said....read his blog...not believe his blog...not believe his blog or lose your job......

Just saying!

It is all over the news sites. Protests, social media outrage, pissed people everywhere, etc.

Freedom, is going to bed knowing, for at least tonight, I can still have my own opinion and beliefs.

You are welcome to have those as long as your OPINION and BELIEFS do not dictate laws or how other people live their own lives..

We as a society and as Americans have made choices and decisions that some beliefs are not okay, regardless what the constitution says. Depending on how someone acts on a belief determine a what we as a society do about it.

we agree that murder is wrong, the polygamy Is wrong, using cocIne or heroin is wrong, beating your wife is wrong, going above the speed limit is wrong. Some of these things a hurt nobody but yourself, yet get caught and you may lose your rights to vote or own a gun.

Claiming someone's right to freedom of speech while the speech and ideas they are spouting is denying equality to others, is hipocritical.

Besides, it's the protestors freedom of speech to voice their voice opposing his. We as society didnt MAKE him resign. He made that choice.

More personally, how is it different or okay for you and your wife to adopt embryos and use science to have and raise children ANY different or more natural than a lesbian couple DOING the EXACT same thing? I really want to know.

What a surprise, a right wing person who does not understand "Freedom of Speech". Ok kids, let us go back to grammar school and US Constitution class review. The constitution covers the government not restricting your freedom of speech. The private sector has no such provision. And for the record, the protest came first from employees of the company.

And Rhea, really this has nothing to do with "free speech". Eich is certainly legally entitled to his opinion. But if he wants to take that stance publicly, then he must be willing to take the heat from the public, in whatever form it comes at him, as long as it isn't violent. So if he is willing to suffer the consequences, then by all means spew the hate.

The same free speech you claim he is due, goes both ways. The people who are outraged by his comments, have the right to call for his career head, protest/boycott the company he runs...that is their "right" to voice their outrage. Neither party is wrong in voicing their views.

Ethically and morally, he is dead wrong. Just as if he had substituted, blacks for gays. If he had publicly stated he didn't feel black people should be allowed to get married, would you still feel the same way you do?

Personally, I don't feel the government has any business sanctioning marriage at all, but the problem gets sticky because our society is set up for a couple, regardless of race, creed, religion or sexual identity, to be able to share marital assets, marital health care, inheritance, tax breaks, legal recognition, etc...And it's simply ethically wrong to deny gay people, who are in a committed relationship, the same rights that others enjoy.

And please don't bring religion into this. It has no currency in a secular society and just because YOUR Christian views think it is wrong, it doesn't mean the next person has that same belief system. I told my daughter a long time ago, I doubt that Jesus, God, magical unicorn or whoever you feel is your maker, really gives a flying f*ck if gay people are living together or not.
