Just got word an old friend, his wife and an infant were lost in the mudslide at Oso Washington. Very sad situation. I hope they find at least one survivor who might be trapped in an air pocket, but highly unlikely.

A shame, my heart goes out to anyone who looses a child, I couldn't imagine waking up without my family.
Hey, careful man, there's a beverage here!

Wow, so sorry to hear that.

Didn't think much of what happened based on the initial, sparse news reports. Got word of the true scope of the disaster there via a local who posts on another forum.
Truly a sad deal.

Sorry to hear this news Bruce. I don't even know you but I can see your pain in your writings. Watching what little coverage the news shows only tells us how bad this situation really is. Very very sad.

Condolences. What a sad and bizarre circumstance...

So sorry to hear about this. What a frightening and difficult rescue operation this must be, digging into the earth with bare hands and so on.

What a tragedy, all the lives and families that were suddenly lost due to constant rain and unstable ground.

Thanks all. A slice of Americana was taken out. That was a nice little area, Oso.

Really sorry to hear that.

Make sure this reminds you to contact those you care about often... we never know what the future holds... it's important to make each day count.
