I wanted to warn the custom installers community about a Mr. Mark Owens who's a custom installer out of Fairfax Virginia and owns Owens Communications. I was handleing most of this pronto programming needs for this clients for the last couple of years and while he was never prompt in paying for my services he has now dissapeared and refuses to answer emails or voice messages since he owes me $600 USD. I know he had some trouble at home and no longer lives at he same address I have on file for him but his cell phone remained the same number (not that he ever replies to voice messages).

Anyway if he approches anyone one to work for him I'd advise you to strongly consider asking for full payment up front if you're really desperate for work...or better yet stay away altogether.

So you did his prontos.

Mark did contract work for the company I am at. When he finally snapped he just stopped coming to work. HE left in his wake a good number of really unhappy customers. It seems he had a habit of selling customers other things as side work. Customers paid for phone systems and programing up front. There is no recourse aside from court for these people. He clearly stated that the work would be sidework... he took the money. So any issue needs to be taken with him.

I work in integrations and customers I never met compalin to me about problems on site. Well as soon as I figure out that the customer SUBED Mark... well then I know why they are pissed off.

I hear that Mark is still in bussiness... what bussiness that is... beats me.

Sorry to hear you knew Mark also...and even more so that you have to try and clean up after him. If you ever have to work with the pronto's he installed let me know as I likely did the programming on them.
