Sure, you can write off anything you want. The question is work or personal. I would have to assume that if you take clients fishing, it is a business expense.

Be careful about doing work on boats, as if they are in the water, you need a whole different kind of insurance of your guys and company!

The insurance policy depends on whether the boat is brought to the service or if they go to the boat, as well as the company- some don't carry that kind of policy. Fortunately for me, mine does.
My mechanic told me, "I couldn't repair your brakes, so I made your horn louder."
