We always take a pre-spring dive. How about else where in the country?

Usually it's the winter times for us, but for the past 4 years, we've been slammed all year long.
Our commercial side of the business keeps us afloat a lot more than resi does!
I'm making it my goal to sell outdoor audio systems like crazy this spring.

Might be our market. After the holiday/Super Bowl party season and before spring renovations start is usually slow for me as well. This year not so much.

Yeah we used to have zero work after Thanksgiving but that has changed for use recently. The lack of thaw has folks tired of breathing around here. We are still booked out for weeks but no new calls in a minute.
I am now over the initial panic and making good use of the down time.

I am marking my calendars from now on to plan for shutdown

slow periods, this week.
historically
1-2 weeks in either march or april (usually related to tax season or the beginning of spring);
1-2 weeks in either may, june or july when we have our first very nice summer weather system (I know its Washington and people think it only rains...but we do occasionally get nice weather)
pre or post Labor day week depending on when schools start back up;
and occasionally a slow period end of October/early November usually the first big rain storm or two.

The month of April. Tax time. Every single client of ours pays in. Any get-backers are excluded. As soon as May 1 pops on the calendar, it's go time again.
We are slower in April. Not slow.

My last slow period was 2009. As far as seasonal swings, I used to see things slow a bit in summer but most of my jobs now are multi-year projects so while there might be breaks between phases the time of year doesn't really have much impact.
For the last 3-4 years I've been booked out solid a minimum of 4-6 weeks and often 3-4 months. Right now I'm jam packed through June.

I'll vouch for Ken. He omitted afternoon and evening, but that's cuz he's modest.

Between 11pm and 5 am. Ha! Classic! We've ran very lean so we haven't slowed down for the 10 years we've been in business. When we first started, guys averaged around 1800 hours but we are around 1900-2000 hours which means guys are working more than their allotted hours of 1904 which is 2080 hours minus vacation.. If there is a slower time, I would say typically February and/or March but that's not the case this year.
