Audio is awesome. They sound great.

Video fracking sucks! Everyone we have put in has had SOME kind of issue with HDMI.

232 works but poor documentation: baud rates some, models require a \x0D at start of string some don't, some models require you to send the power on command twice with in 1s some don't.

We gave up on NAD and do Marantz now.

A heavier amp does not always equate with better sound.

I've always been a NAD supporter even in the early days.

One of my all time favorite home hi fi's was using the NAD 3020 with Rogers LS35A speakers. Amazing sound, and the amp cost $200!!!

I wish I still had that system. Paired the LS35A's with an Audio Pro sub. It was awesome!

Im a fan of nad. And yes ive had a couple of problems but found there support very good. Their lower end equipment does just the basics but if you want more just go higher up the spec chain.
There rs232 commands are a bit annoying as they outsourced their protocol commands for various different units so there is a slight incompatability, for instance we upgraded a t748 for t757 and had to completely rewrite the demopad commands
learning the hard way

A heavier amp does often equate a more powerful amp or a more robust power supply. In this day and age of everything getting cheaper (and I don't mean less expensive), weight can be an indicator. Now we can probably argue that is may be a different class of amplifier or may be digital, but apples to apples, weight is a good starting point.

It's actaully critical responses like yours that have me avoid this subforum. Someone ask for opinion, someone gives it. Then everyone has to jump in with a counter point about how they are right. It's ridiculous. I'll be hanging out in the discrete section.

Have fun talking about and reminiscing over a NAD receiver from years ago. I mean clearly, if we are going to talk about and rate a manufacture on how good their product used to be, then I guess you'll find me looking for Zenith TVs and Pioneer MultiDisk CD players. ----yawn----
