I installed my first MRX-1 on my own system using an iphone 5. I love it...until...I get an error message upon opening the app that reads, "THE REGISTERED MRX BASE STATION WAS NOT FOUND ON YOUR NETWORK. PLEASE VERIFY THAT YOU ARE CONNECTED BY WI-FI TO THE SAME NETWORK AS THE MRX."

I am using a similar app to control a Yamaha receiver that does not have this issue. The receiver is connected to the same ethernet switch as the MRX-1 in the rack.

If I turn off the wi-fi on the iphone 5, then back on again, it seems to solve the problem.

My network skills are basic, but tech support has advised me to change to a static ip address for the MRX-1. I did, but it does not seem to help. Other tech support personnel suspect a network or iphone issue.

Any ideas?

I assume you are using the CCP iOS app and not the TC as your iOS code is tied to an mrx-1, not the mrx-10?

It's a little Amusing that tech support told you to static, as their #1 go to for connectivity fixes is to dhcp.

Is this issue happening when you first unlock your phone? I have this problem sometimes with my TC system, as iOS shuts off the wifi on your phone after a certain period of being locked. And it does take several seconds, sometimes 30 (if you live in a crappy congested wifi area like me) for your iPhone to actually re establish the wifi connection.

Can you link your file in a pm? I can take a glance at your network config.

I found no way to link the file, so I sent it to you via email.

Yes...I am using the CCP iOS app.
To the defense of tech support, I believe they told me to try the static IP when we were suspecting the network bridge near the system. I have since disconnected the bridge from the network until this issue is resolved.

The symptom usually appears when I unlock the iphone. However, the Yamaha control app never has this problem. It is very stable. I live in a subdivision that has 5 or 6 networks within range, so there is not a lot of congestion.

How long are you waiting to send a command after waking the phone" If it's not long enough, the phone won't be on the WiFi network at all, so it CAN'T see the MX controller.
My mechanic told me, "I couldn't repair your brakes, so I made your horn louder."

The error occurs before I attempt to send any commands. It occurs as soon as the app is opened.

My Yamaha control app never has this problem. It is connected to the same network switch as the MRX-1.

Instead of cycling the WiFi, have you tried closing the URC app and restarting? Since your other apps are working, perhaps cycling the URC app with success may help URC support focus on the app instead of the network. This would apply only if cycling the URC app works. Sounds like a trouble I had a year ago with android TiVo app. App revisions finally corrected the issue. Perhaps a reference table within the app has an issue and is refreshed by cycling WiFi as it senses a "new" WiFi connection.

Go into the setup of that router and turn UPnP on and IGMP filtering off.

Try another router, I had an mrx1 that wouldn't work on a fios router, just wasn't happy, ran to bestbuy, threw in a $150 netgear and it's been plugging along for 2 years now.
Hey, careful man, there's a beverage here!

I had same issue and it would resolve if I waited few seconds and ran the app again (in other words just a wait). Not that it is a fix in all situations but I assigned static IP to ios devices when they are connected to my home network. It appeared that it was taking long time to negotiate the dhcp protocol to obtain a dynamic address.

Upnp was already enabled.
Advertisement period 30 minutes
Time to live 4 hops
Zero config enabled
That's all there is under the device discovery setting. Any other ideas

Intriguing.....next time you get the error, try using fing on the iphone. See if the mrx1 is still active on the network. If active use fing to ping the device. Wondering now if the Mrx is dropping its connection.
