My Arcam 350 works fine does not have the technology to go with emerging technology of the Blu Rays and I want to upgrade my old Sony Blu-ray with a new Oppo. 105.
So I need to buy a new AVR to go with the Blu-Ray. Would Denon (don't know model yet) be a comparable manufacturer to Arcam? Open to other manufacturers. Like to hear about what models you like. Other components to system will be my Epson 1080i projector and crestron controller. (both 5-7 years old)

Thanks
BK

If you don't want to miss what you used to have on Arcam, plus adding new bells and whistles. Denon AVR-4520CI is a to go piece. No need to ask, because that is what I have in my personal rack.

The Arcam 350 seems to have plenty of digital audio inputs. Why not run an outboard HDMI switch and just use the Arcam for audio?
This is what I advise a lot of my clients to do that have older high end audio gear.

Does your projector support HDMI? If not, you probably aren't gonna get too far in your system upgrade without dealing with that.
Crestron controller should be just fine unless you want to add multiple Ipads or newer touchpanels. May not be compatible or have enough available memory.

^^^^^^ +1

Way to go. If you like your Arcam, forget about Denon's crappy receivers, your ears will bleed...

Or go with a REAL receiver. I would suggest either Integra or Anthem. My 1st choice would be Integra DTR-60.5.

Be aware, you will need to reprogram the crestron piece regardless of which course you choose.

True.
And if you don't have a copy of the file or are working with the original programmer, it will have to be started over from scratch.
I run into this a lot.

I would agree with the above, NAD would be another viable option in my opinion for a nice receiver with good power.
