Just wondering if there are any diamonds in the rough out there that you like. I've been pretty happy with the Sonance stuff. I've tried some of the very entry level Monitor Audio stuff, but somehow I haven't been very impressed. I know a lot of people like their mid/upper stuff. It could just be bad acoustics in the spaces I've tried them.

I used to really like the Infinity ERS110 in-ceilings - always thought they were an awesome deal, but they no longer go through distro.

How about the entry level kefs?

I really like the Episode 300 series for under $400 MSRP & the 500 series under $600. I love the sound!!!
Knowing that Gold went up a few K makes me think "well now I have to do a better job on selling more equipment".

I assume the Monitor used we there CWT series? That's all I use but they are well below your budget. I have used the IDC module or LCR versions of the their custom stuff and it is really nice. I like the In-wall LCR 280/380. Still above your budget I think.

I'm always looking for the best value options, I can tell you the Sonance VP61 (and new VP62) definitely outperform their Monitor Audio, Niles, and Revel counterparts in those price ranges.

...and so do their 81/82's as well (by a large margin).

With regard to other products, they also perform better then the B&W's, Speakercrafts, Polk's and Russounds I've compared them to. I'm currently looking at Phase Technology and Kef to see how they compare...but haven't done a side by side yet.

BG Radia's PD series is really nice.

I have never listened to Totems Mask series but their other products are amazing.

I just heard the BG speakers a couple of months ago and I thought they sounded very good. Good price, too. I still want to hear the ones with the ribbon tweeters.

I will be installing some KEF in-wall and in-ceiling on a job starting tomorrow (weather permitting) and am looking forward to hearing them. We will be replacing some Episodes we put in when on a budget after the clients divorce. He now has the money for some better equipment and we get to hear the KEF's for the first time ourselves.

I used to like Jamo speakers. I actually have a pair of in-walls, don't know the mode number, in my bedroom. They sound great. I have a pair of 6 IC Jamo's at my parents in their kitchen and those too sound great, better than Episode.

I sell the episode 700's for $500. Are some of you really charging more? VERY happy with them to the point I don't even want to try anything else to muddy the waters.

But, I could be convinced, lol.
