Hi.
I have the new Sharp 26" 16x9 lcd tv in my office (to test ir code with not to watch..). I have tried 1020 codes so far. using "make hex" (sharp device numbers 1,13,17 and 30) this is all the ones I know that Sharp use. I can only find discreet codes for av4, card reader and on/off, plus a few others. None of the other codes work from older models or from other products i.e. projectors, tvs etc.
I desparately need codes for av1, 2 and 3.
Has anyone found them or know if they do exist?
Please help...
Sharp Australia have no IR code information for this model.
Regards Daniel

Just a shot in the dark, but try codes for Mitsubishi LCDs. They look like twins.

I would love to have the descrete codes you've discovered so far. I have to install a 37" LCD next week.

The codes have been around for awhile, if you are having trouble it's probably the screen interference, we had to use a plasma rated IR receiver next to it. I had problems with one of the inputs but took it off a DLP remote.

Considering the countless threads posted here about Sharp's ambivalence toward discrete codes, I hope they'll be bombarded with complaints (civil, of course) at CEDIA this week. I know I intend to.
And not just Sharp... everyone with a booth at CEDIA wants our business, and providing adequate control methods is required to get it. The fact that it's still an issue in 2004 is mind boggling.

Doug,
I second the motion....tell EVERY manufacturer you visit that discrete codes (preferrably IR and serial) is a REQUIREMENT to build long lasting business relationships.
BTW, I know IR is serial, but,w/o starting a war...maybe a legacy DB9 RS232c connection and a USB one too?
My point in a previous post that went bad but turned out OK in the end! Let's not get off track on this one!
Thanks in advance!
Randy
