Still, where is Ernie when you need someone to smack OP for not listing details and model numbers?

extender/balun same dam thing :) i like balun better, too many homeowners and meat bags call them extenders round here. they were baluns therefore will always be baluns to me

Switch emitter plug to a different port on extender receiver piece.

Stick another emitter to the IR receiver piece on the extender sender piece. This emitter will go to an assigned port of the control processor unit.

This should work. Just a matter of understand what those wacky engineers put labels on these pieces. May be blame on those Non-English speaking Chinese workers on assembly lines...

please report back and let me know if changing the green wires with the orange wires make a difference... I think we have been through this enough times that there is no difference except color of the insulation.

I installed a wyrestorm hdbaset 8x8 using the 1 cat extenders and a control4 system. I tried mono-mini and stereo-mini cables from HC800 to matrix. I tried C4 emitters and wyrestorm emitters and i could not get this matrix to pass IR reliably. I ended up splicing the IRs with a spare Cat5 and no problems so far.

We were disappointed with this and wasted about 4 man hours on this. a few days before this installation we installed our first Control4 matrix and the IR through the matrix worked great.

one of my gripes is that the Control4 requires stereo-mini cables from HC800 to Matrix and most IR products are mono. the other issue we ran into with the C4 install is that i tried to split the IR from the C4 with a mini-stereo 1x2 splitter and this caused the IR to not function at all.

Second one has been my solution to this.
While there may be a technical remedy to this problem, this quick and dirty method works.
Have about 4 hours of my life that I will never get back trying to solve that stupid issue.

im not understanding that? but....568B......ready.......sitting down...................NFG!!!!!! doesnt do shit!

so what id did tonite is try B, and nothing. 2nd, swapped out 1 cat balun (extender for you nerdy guys :-) to see if it was bad balun, nothing. 3rd, i tried taking the emitter off the the stupid RNG box (which these suck to begin w/) and tried putting some IR Reciever/Dongle that i got from a comcast tech (which are stereo) nothing....so i dont think ir in is working on STB, 2nd i think that its an IR issue between Wyrestorm/Comcast 5V instead of the normal 12V....

all for a bedroom tv.....guess its replace the ole RP1 for XP6 and add a T1B+ to go along w my T2X in the media room for some routing all for only 2 stb's.....

The Wyrestorm matrix uses 5v IR instead of 12v, install the IR recievers that came with the matrix to the back of the unit and tape emitters from your control system to them to work around this. It makes the back of the matrix look ugly but it works. You will also have to use the Wyrestorm emitters at the display end as well or it will not work. I have an 8X16 HDBaseT working with an Elan g! using this method after trying what you tried.

not sure what the problem is but I've fitted about 80 Wyrestorm products with extenders, matrixs ir control and 2 way ir and only had two problems, both installer error.
Wyrestorm have fantastic support and patience so definitely call them and they will talk you through it

I'm watching to see if you bozos just want to suffer while trying to answer the impossible, or if you're going to finally speak up to these a##holes who think it doesn't matter what brand and model things are.

Wow, you've missed a lot of discussions. If it turns out to matter, it's only because of the particular twist ratios of the pairs in the model of wire now in the wall. There's nothing to predict other wire will perform that way.

That's an incredibly willfully ignorant attitude. You're refusing to learn that there are more things than what you learned some time ago. Wow. Tell you what -- don't learn what things are, and don't ask for help any more. That seems like a good balance.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
