I'm installing a new defrost thermostat in the GE side by side refrigerator today.

Does that count?

We finally have a near 50 degree day in Chicago. My wife and I just changed every outside bulb and I put new wipers and a new headlight in her Sorento.... I think "working on your own system" only constitutes the following: A/V gear, lighting control, TSTATs and any wiring that connects or controls those systems. If your fridge had a network port and the status / feedback can be viewed on a touch panel / remote, that could be a candidate.

So lets turn this into a competition and start posting pictures of your completed rack/system!

The best part is Y'all WIN!

The "network" port leaked water all over the floor, and the feedback was no ice cubes for my.....

Dang it!

Maybe I'll get one of the new fridges that do have a touch panel and network port, that way it'll count.... ;-)

i moved this year too and have been going nuts in my place. i enjoy doing it for myself. bought a place that was built in 1978, had all switched outlets for lamps and a total of 6 fixtures for lighting in the whole house and one nuetral color....

first thing i did was pull a new lighting circuit to my attic and do 15 cans in throughout my 2nd flooor bedrooms, 12 more on the first floor, redid a bathroom w vanities, granite and fixtures, paint every room upstairs. redid the whole elec system, receps and switches all decora and tamperproof (for the lil kiddies i got) then put a whole burg, fire/CO low voltage DSC system in my house on a radio w/ remote access from idevices, then i stated pulling 7 zones of DA for Nuvo P3100's, a 5.1 w/ Niles SAS1 to switch the fronts and sub for DA. and finally did my 29 space rack in the basement w everything. i recently just added a 47 sony upgraded from my 20 sharp from 10 yrs ago, to on my wall w a one cat balun from wyrestorm, had issues so i rmembered i had a spare MRP64 on my shelf, switched out my RP1 for my 5.1 and added a T1B+ for th ebedroom for IR routing. just using a STB and hardline network to do some streaming from prime etc.....

i run a business w/ my father, and just recently ripped out my old Grand Concerto w/ MPS4 and thru it in his house to upgrade from his old Gloria system, w/ RA2 and security/fire/CO w/ remote access and CCTV as well

i love it, im fortunate to be very good at what i do because of my father, as well as having a good friend and mentor in the AV industry to teach me everything i know. yes i have alot of stupid issues w intergration these days but who doesnt

w me it never stops, i love destruction in my own house. you cant learn to do it w/ out ripping it out and putting it back to gether

I vote that anyone who has a Panja / Phast system that is still controlling a LaserDisc player be declared the winner. I would settle for a Crestron ST-1500C and a Unity Motion or Voom receiver still mounted in a rack....

Erm I have a tendancy to rob my house to finish clients installs.
I actually got to the point of telling friends that it was all just for test purposes.
Anyone else on a similar vein.

I view everything in my house as temporary. Something is always getting pulled and sold. It would be great if I could ever get the time to hookup the new stuff.

Used to do the same thing in the car audio business.. my two month old equipment would be pillaged for a customers car, but I always got to replace them with brand new units afterwards. I had to drive home and steal my own Paradigms a couple times.... apparently, our company had a problem with selling things that weren't in stock.

I'd still be rocking my ampro 3600 and my faroudja processor but the ampro kept blowing up power supplies. I finally killed it when I moved to Florida

Man I miss the beauty and image quality of a 3 gun CRT projector. It's so much more than what is available today. I'd trade scan lines for pixels any day
Ed will be known as the Tiger Woods of the integration business, followed closely with the renaming of his company to "Hotties A/V". The tag line will be "We like big racks and tight holes"...
