Anyone out there know if there are any discrete input select IR codes out there??
We were meant to be installing an RS232 controlled Samsung 50" plasma (PPM50) but at the last minute found out we had to use an 'IR control only' 50" Samsung plasma (PS50PH4) Gosh we were happy.......not.
The PS50PH4's remote, of course, only has a single 'toggle' input selector (We got over the power on/off toggle by sensing the +5v on the DVI input!)
NB We found big 'lip sync' problems with this screen. The video seems about 3 frames behind the audio using the CV input.
Many thanks

I have yet to see satisfactory explanations of the lip unsync sitatuation, but a recent system had an Ch 3 output from a DVD/VCR combo into a plasma TV, as well as an A/V amp, and I accidentally had the volume up on the TV. There was an astounding 1/4 second or so delay between the A/V amp and the TV. Apparently the TV takes some time to process the video and make it into a picture, and it delays its sound so it will be in sync. Nothing delays the sound from the A/V amp, so, lip unsynca!

A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything. "The biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place." -- G. “Bernie” Shaw |
