I need to know how to get into the Service Menu in this set. According to Sencore's web site is pressing Menu and within 3 seconds Power in the remote but it didn't work. I called Bob Fucci at ISF and he told me that he had the same problem once but he didn't remember how he got in. He is trying to contact somebody at Pioneer but I need this info if posible by tomorrow. I also tried differents procedures from different models without any luck.

What you are trying worked for me with this set. With the unit off, hit the menu button then the power button. There are some neat features in there. One is a "wobble" type setting where the TV shifts the image around constantly so there is no burn-in.

It didn't worked for me. I lost count of how many times I tried. I even try doing it with the buttons in the display as well as a combination of remote and display without sucess.

I have the factory service manual for this exact display. As far as I can tell, you will need to address it with rs232 codes.
I think that's a little strange since the commercial Pioneer, the 503 has complete infra red control, and the obviously domestic model, the elite, can only be controlled through a serial connection.
A little bas ackwards, but nobody's perfect, including Pioneer. Great looking display though, and worth the hassle in my opinion.

To get into the PRO1000 using IR codes:
On remote press: MENU, SET, POWER
Press MUTE until INIT appears at top of screen.
Don't forget to make sure this plasma is set to display 1080i and not 1035i. To change this do the same as above and then:
Press DOWN ARROW until INTEGRATOR MODE appears at bottom.
Press RIGHT ARROW to unlock integrator mode.
Turn unit off and WAIT until standby light stops flashing.
Press MENU, POWER. Panel should be in integrator mode.
Go to SETUP.
Go to HDTV MODE
Change to 1080i.
Don't forget to take unit out of integrator mode. Just do the same thing as before and when you hit the right arrow when the panel says integrator mode it will lock it.
Hope this helps.

Guys: Thanks for your replies. Diesel, unfortunally I just read your post and I won't be able to test this procedure until tomorrow. I'll post the results. As an update Bob Fucci from ISF call me back today and told me that he spoke with somebody at Pioneer and they told him that apparently there are some of the first units that are unable to get to the service menu using IR codes and there is some kind of software to do so, the guy at pioneer told Bob that he woul try to get it for him. I guess that what he was referring is the RS232 protocol that HDTV Junkie mentioned before. HDTV junkie by any chance is the RS232 protocol in the service manual that you have?

Diesel: Thanks again, the procedure that you explained worked. By any chance do you know how to get into the service mode for a Zenith P60W26P?
