I've been using a vendor who has recently gone out of business for low cost bulk LAN cables, HD-15 video cables and most importantly HD-15 to 5 BNC breakout cables. I've seen prices on this last item vary from $3.16 (from the place that does not answer the phone any more, surpise) to $60+. Anybody have a favored vendor for non-branded, inexpensive stuff like this?

I have been dealing with a company for years that has been healthy the entire time, and is now expanding its product line into cables and equipment that may be of interest to all of us.

For instance, they have cheap RCA cables, but three years ago they introduced a VGA - 5 BNC cable with a special 1/2" diameter disconnect near the VGA end that allows the cable to be pulled through a conduit without any soldering needed to finish it off.

They are Calrad Electronics, old enough to have been California Radio in the 1960s (maybe 1950s; I knew the present owner's father, and he was no youngster!) in Hollywood, California at 323 465-2131.

Their catalog is online at www.calrad.com, and I do not think any prices are on the site.

And please, literally, tell them that Ernie told you to call. I don't get any money out of this, but it would be nice for them to know where added business comes from.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

I buy whatever parts I can from ECD (www.ecdcom.com, smaller catalog, better prices) and the rest from MCM (www.mcmelectronics.com, not cheap, huge catalog).

Then there's Digikey (www.digikey.com), for the specific stuff like every OEM connector & plug imaginable.
