As long as we're talking about the RC posting editor...

First, where else do you get an explanation from the owner of the site, along with a change, within a week? This one was only a couple of hours! Bravo, man!

Second, believe it or not I sometimes write even more than I actually post, and I want to highlight and delete a paragraph or more. When I highlight, I can scroll down to the bottom of the window, but the window does not scroll so that I can continue to highlight text below the window.

If I then hit delete, the highlighted text disappears, more text slides up, and if I then mouse over that text without holding down the leftmouse button (I'm on a PC), the text I move over automatically highlights... more or less.

I just did this and accidentally moved the cursor up. Text that I wanted to leave in the post was then highlighted and I almost deleted it.

Is there a way to make the text in the editing window scroll when deleting text so I can highilght all of it at once?

Thanks......
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Not sure about this one... highlighting and scrolling long text with either the mouse or cursor keys seems to work properly in my copies of IE, Firefox and Chrome.

I've had this problem for a while on my desktop PC with XP. I rarely do this with my Lenovo PC with Windows 7. I'll let you know. Firefox in either case.

Thanks for the astoundingly rapid response. Do you have google alerts hooked up to a siren or something like that?

The originator of "I can't give you an answer, without knowing everything about everything..." (Yeah I paraphrased you... Sue Me! LOL) and you don't give the single most important piece of info. You're looking at a webpage, you give the browser type, a great first clue, but then fail to give the version!

Let me give an analogy that you can relate to: How many HDMI inputs does my Denon receiver have?

Try using pressing the Ctrl key and A key at the same time.

I didn't hit Ctrl+A because I did not want to select the entire text, only the part that I was highlighting, which was why I highlighted it.

The browser is Firefox and it's always the latest. Those guys sometimes make changes once a week, but I always stay up to date.

And I just discovered a detail -- the scrolling doesn't fail when I write a post and edit it, but instead when I assemble snippets of different posts and edit them together. It happened again a few minutes ago.

As for the analogy, there's only one latest Firefox (24.0 at this moment) but there's an entire line of latest Denons. My error was not pointing out that I had the latest version and further in not putting in the version number so the exact target of this discussion could be pinned down later after Firefox has upgraded some more (updated is a better word; the update might turn it to crap as when Windows 3 "upgraded" to Windows 4....).
