I am working on a project that has a residential condo on the upper floors of a mixed use building. Everything in condo has to meet residential code, but floor penetrations to the lower levels need to have a 1 hour fire rating.

The IT room will be located on the floor below the condo, so the route the wires take through the floor will need to have a 1 hour fire rating.

I have looked a few products like these

[Link: catalogs.infocommiq.com]

Does anyone know if I use one of these products, does the wire need any fire rating, or does the cable chase alone meet the code?

Are you running the cabling through conduit? If not, wouldn't that be a fairly easy way to achieve this?
My mechanic told me, "I couldn't repair your brakes, so I made your horn louder."

Metal conduit risers are the safest with inspectors with a sealed junction box or filled with fire caulk.
I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other.

Hilti is your friend here.

call your closest Hilti Store tell them how thick the floor is and how big of a cable bundle and let them spec it out.

All of their stuff has been UL tested and you can hand the AHJ a compliance sheet.
