We have used Sherbourn's 18 zone(9 zone) multi-zone amps with great success. As you know, they are gone and who knows if Emotiva will pick it up.

Question is, what are you using for multi-zone amplifiers that come close to this in performance and reliability?

And we don't care if it's whored out all over the internet. Give me something reliable and we'll make $ on it.

and if you have the budget ADA

I just picked up Audio Control and have only used a couple of pieces. They have been great.

I used ATI for theater amps.

you can drive the $h!t out of a Sonance Sonamp amplifier...they make a 12 ch in 30 and 50 watt configurations....you can drive them to a dead short, remove the short and they will come back to life.... I have a few systems out there with sonamps with low impedence loads running on the edge of what they should support and have not had any issues....likely not the same SQ, but they are not bad by any means....and of course you could buy a bunch of Parasound Zamps and use bridge kits and put 2 side by side in a rack and do modular amplfication distribution ...and the Zamps are very reliable and sound good....just ask around about both, can't see anyone having bad things to say about either of them.

AudioControl

We used to do a lot of Sonance Sonamps years ago and I have seen them still working out for clients.

Longshot, it was good chatting at the IP party. Did your 2 in the corner fall asleep there?

I'm assuming 'audiocontrol.com' is it. They might need to pay their internet bill. When going to this site it reads:

Yeahhhhhhhhh. Guess you cant search their site anytime soon.

My crew made it out alive. Lets just say it was way to nerdy for them.

Audio control has some cool solutions and seem to be pretty good so far.

Parasound has a the new Zamp Quattro that is 4 channels, sound great and tuff as sh!t. They are nice b/c you can make a 16 ch amp in just 2U or look at them as scalable. i think msrp for that setup is about 2800. They have some great features including built in speaker-to-line level converter.

The Sonamp 1230 and 1250MKII have been excellent performers over the last 10 years+. They sound great and will tolerate difficult loads, over-temperature and over-current conditions. Both amps will also tolerate shorted outputs for quite a while, but not indefinitely.

The newer 8-channel 875D MKII uses four B&O Icepower™ modules rated at 65 watts/channel into 8-ohms, 120 watts into 4 ohms. Each module will protect themselves indefinitely against shorted outputs and other fault conditions. When an adverse condition triggers their protection, they temporarily shut-down and have a progressive reset cycle up to 10 seconds. Beyond this, they go into a 'sleep' mode and stay in this mode indefinitely until the fault condition is corrected.

Of all the Sonamps made starting in 1991, the 875D MKII is the most efficient, reliable and arguably the best-sounding model to date.

Lexicon DD-8

These if they are in the budget! Otherwise you could use the similar Crown Audio piece however it only accepts balanced inputs vs. RCAs. Otherwise the usual cast of characters.....

For the record, I haven't had an issue with any Snap Multichannel amps (knocking HARD on wood) but have had a few issues with their 2 channel stuff.
