Anyone know where to get the hard plastic sleeves the cable companies use to slip over coax that comes up from the ground on the side of houses?

It sounds to me like you're asking about "RG-6 Feed-Through Bushings."

I was mainly looking for the stuff that has a slit in it. In this case, the wire is already there and I just want to add some protection to it from mowers and weedeaters. Like this:

The round one looks like poly pipe with a slit in it. I posted a link above and you can make the slit yourself with any number of tools

If all you're looking for is protection from landscaping equipment, I would simply use a piece 1/2" or 3/4" Schedule40 PVC. No slit though, but if disconnecting at DEMARC is not possible then you got to look elsewhere.

The flexible tube with the slit is THE answer. You don't have to disconnect anything to install it. Cables usually come up at least a couple of inches from the house wall, as shown in the pictures, where it would be very difficult to mount a piece of PVC conduit. The stuff with the slit is also quite a bit more flexible than conduit.

Hell, just put a big rock in front of it. No one is going to mow that!

Take a look at the Liquidtite product from HD/Lowes. I think it could be cut easily - but don't blame me if you cut yourself.
I use the Liquidtite in my yard, for line voltage landscape light Romex protection.
