I am trying to get a dish 811 to respond to an MX-800. The codes for the 811 are in MX-Editor. However, these codes do not work nor do any others in their database. Assuming there was something wrong with their database, I have an MX-500 that works the 811 box fine when using the code from the table in the 500 book. When I learn to the 800 from the 500, all codes are accepted and registered GOOD. After exiting learn mode on the 800, still nothing works! Are there known compatibility issues with the 800. I've emailed Hank at Universal last night but won't hear from him till next week. I am too impatient and can't be the only one experiencing this. Frustrated....

The Dish HD811 allows for 17 different remote addresses. The default is code 1. You may want to verify that your DISH HD 811 is still on that code or whatever code you choose, then teach the buttons to the MX-800 from the front of the HD811.

Exact answer PennyG. The universal data bases are almost always ID 1. Once you set the receiver to 1 you should be set.
