Thought I would generate a laugh or two.
Used to be able to buy a Sharp 13" TV and find a way... Now there are no name brand TVs under 19 ". Forget the whole idea? Buy an all in one Podunk 7" TV???

Is the Seura 19" waterproof TV too expensive or too large for the area?
Worth a look.

Doesn't Samsung have Monitors with HDMI input. I think we did one last year. Looked fine and worked. Not 100% sure.

A 19" with a folding bracket won't hide under a 16" deep cabinet - that's the trouble.

That 19" Seura is 13.25" tall.
I'm also interested in this solution, so let us know what you end up with.

If you haven't done one, you haven't fought the battle. The bracket has to mount to the underside of the cabinet. That can cause you to lose two or 3 inches right there. The TV has to show below the cabinet, plus it "should" completely hide when it's folded up. Therefore you need a TV that is much smaller than you think. Usually you get into the cheapies like a Coby, and they may not even have any mounting holes on the back

What we need is a 10-19" tablet with an HDMI input. The client would have to turn it on and select an app but at least it would fit under the cabinet and it would be handy to have a tablet mounted in the kitchen anyway.

I generally try to get the designer to allow for a space in the cabinets to recess a TV. Looks really slick with a wood framed bezel around the set. This allows for a much larger (30") set in the kitchen while not looking out of place. The space above the fridge is generally a good spot for this unless it is a Sub Zero with low ceiling.

Or do a drop down lift with a false back to the cabinet upper.

I put them on the side of the refrigerator cabinet in an articulating mount. Just did this with a 24" LG with only 15" between the counter and the cabinet. Trim out the wall to tuck it in.

Any new ideas?
I'm sure there are sub-15" displays available, for commercial installs.

Sorry I didn't see this until now Tom. Should have posted it on IP :) NAXA [Link: naxa.com]They have 13.3" and 16" in those small sizes. I use the 13.3" for the undercabinet replacements. NTSC & ATSC tuners, HDMI input, VGA input, etc... They work and are really the only game in town now. Problems: The stand snaps into a stub. To wall mount, you have to take the TV apart to remove 2 screws to take off the stub. Also, the VESA mounting holes are off center (both vertically & horizontially - crazy). You can get them for a little over $100 and I typically sell them for $149.
