Client has a 2 year old home and at the time had the latest motorola boxes. comcast is pushing an upgrade to their new X1 system and are going todo it. Does anyone know if the X1 system uses the same motorola codes as the newer boxes?

the codes are different. With C4 we have a completely different driver foe the X1 boxes.

thanks guys..

Doing some reading it sounds like this thing is a turd (not surprised lol) Im going to try and talk my clients out of doing this for now. Their Comcast system has been one of the ONLY system that has been reliable.

Im still confused as to why they are moving to this, they are even paying for the crapcast tech to come out and install it. Seems like if crapcast wants their clients to play alpha testers they at least should foot the bill for the installations.

Apparently in Central NJ they are having problems with these X1 boxes.

I was on a site where in one day they swapped out 5 defective X series boxes.

Apparently (and I could be wrong) these boxes have an xfinity access point built in so that it may lead to free wi fi anywhere a comcast customer has access to these new boxes.

My memory is bad but I thought that RNG codes worked with the new boxes......

Thanks guys! after a 10 minute "intervention" i talked my client into holding out for a few months to see if they can iron out the POS system.

Either way, its good to know that these boxes have some PIA codes because im sure ill be running across these turds sooner rather then later :(

Does anyone here have a RTI file for these remotes that they would like to share? I learned the codes in with the IRPro but they failed to operate the box.

Thanks,
Kurt

I programmed my first with a MX880 using CCP and the codeset in the database labeled "IR" worked fine.
There was a problem with access one day. The light reflecting off the white door into the face of the DVR killed the IR reliability. I covered the DVR with a towel and the everything worked normal. The takeaway from this is cover the front IR port completely or use the rear IR extender.
I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other.
